Catechetical Sunday

Catechetical Sunday will be celebrated on September 15, 2024. This special day is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the vital role of catechists in the Church. It is a time to celebrate the ministry of catechesis, which involves teaching and spreading the Gospel message.

The theme for this year’s Catechetical Sunday is “Lord, when did we see you hungry?” (Matthew 25:37). This theme reminds us of our call to missionary discipleship.  
 
Catechetical Sunday also serves as an opportunity for the parish community to pray for and support catechists in their mission as they are commissioned for ministry on this day. It is also a day to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of those who volunteer their time to nurture the faith of others, particularly children and young adults.
