Youth Minister receives an Eee Pad

The Office of Youth Ministry presented youth leader Marty De Los Santos an Eee Pad for bringing more than 40 youth to the Youth Spectacular. De Los Santos has been involved with junior high school students for eight years at Saint Anthony of Padua in Robstown.

“I’ll use the Eee Pad to create a power point presentation about the sacraments,” De Los Santos said. St. Anthony of Padua has eight core members who are presently working with youth.

Jaime Reyna, director of the Office of Youth Ministry, offered diocesan youth ministers an incentive to bring youth to the Youth Spectacular.

“If Youth Ministers bring 40 teens to an event [in this case the Youth Spectacular] they have a chance to receive an Eee Pad. Marty was the only Youth Minister to receive one,” Reyna said.

“This is part to not only motivate Youth Ministers to bring more youth but also to promote the technology tools that Youth Ministers need for their ministry,” Reyna explained.

Since De Los Santos was the only Youth Minister who brought 40 or more youth, he won the tablet from the Jr. High Youth Spectacular. No one won from the High School Youth Spectacular event.
