More than 50,000 people will gather in Indianapolis. One hundred forty-three speakers are lined up for this special event, and 14 musicians or bands will play in the official program. Amid all these crowds, 65 people from our diocese will make their way to Indianapolis, representing our diocese, to worship one God genuinely present in the Eucharist.
Social Media coordinator Liz Morales and STC Managing Editor Susanne Janssen will be the eyes and ears, the camera lens to bring all the events to you – make sure to check our website and follow South Texas Catholic and the Diocese of Corpus Christi on Facebook and Instagram.
The National Eucharistic Congress is a launch point marking the Year of Mission and a new chapter in the future of the National Eucharistic Revival. Over 50,000 Catholics from all over the U.S. will gather in Indianapolis for five powerful days of worship and encounter. “This moment is part of a much bigger movement within our Church,” said Jason Shanks, who will lead the National Eucharistic Congress, Inc. into the future beginning in August. “The mission of this Revival will not be complete until every Catholic has a deep personal relationship with our Eucharistic Lord.”
The Congress will open with the perpetual pilgrims entering the Lucas Oil Stadium from the four corners of the country. Together, they traveled more than 6,700 miles with the Eucharist on foot, by boat, and by car.
The daily schedule starts with a Family Rosary in the stadium, followed by Mass. The morning sessions cover different tracks – “Encounter” to deepen the understanding of the Eucharist, “Encuentro” in Spanish, “Empower” (with an emphasis on evangelization), “Renewal” for people involved in ministry, “Cultivate” for families, “Awaken” for young people and “Abide” for priests and seminarians.
The Expo in the Convention Center showcases more than 200 organizations, ministries and communities. Music and podcasts are performed on various stages. The afternoon program consists of breakout sessions, tackling relevant and often hot topics in the life of the Church today.
In the evenings, Revival sessions in the Lucas Oil Stadium will bring together renowned names of the Catholic Church in North America, like Fr. Mike Schmitz, Bishop Barron, Sr. Josephine Garrett and more.
On Saturday afternoon, all participants are invited to a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of downtown Indianapolis. On Sunday, Luis Cardinal Tagle, Pope Francis's Special Envoy, will celebrate the closing Mass, with all bishops and priests concelebrating.
We will keep you updated with reels, posts, articles and more during these days! The NEC website will have a live stream of the main events in Lucas Oil Stadium, including daily Mass, the Encounter Impact Session, and each day’s evening Revival session. Additionally, EWTN will offer television and live stream coverage, with Relevant Radio providing live radio broadcast coverage.
