The Ark Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for Youth will host its Fifth Annual Benefit Golf Tournament on June 26 at the NorthShore Country Club in Portland. Proceeds will help The Ark to carry out its mission to providing caring intervention for abused, neglected and displaced children and youth.
Tee time is 8 a.m. with sign-in beginning at 6:30 a.m. If enough players are registered, an afternoon tournament will also be held. The entry fee is $125 per player. Entry fee includes breakfast, beverages, snacks, range balls, cart and green fees, lunch and an entry for drawing of door prizes.
Play is a four-person scramble, best ball all the way. Prizes will be given to teams for first, second and third place. Two consolation prizes will also be given. On selected holes, prizes will be given–for women and men–for “closest to the pin” and “longest drive”. The winner of the putting contest will also receive a prize. Mulligans are available for purchase. An extra ticket for the drawing of door prizes will be given for every mulligan bought.
Three levels of hole sponsorship are available, including, Lion: $2,000 (includes four-person team), Gazelle: $1,000 (includes two players) and Dove: $500 (includes one player). A sign with the sponsor's company’s logo and level of sponsorship will be placed at a tee box. Recognition will be given to sponsors on The Ark’s Web site and in its newsletter.
