Forty students from Incarnate Word Academy Middle Level will travel to Victoria on Saturday, Feb. 14, to compete in the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) District Academic Meet. Results will be announced Monday, Feb. 16.
The students will compete in several categories including calculator application, impromptu speaking, listening skills, maps, graphs and charts, mathematics, modern oratory, number sense, on-site drawing, prose interpretation, ready writing, science, spelling and vocabulary.
The top two students from each category will advance to compete in the PSIA State Academic Meet on April 25 at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
Last year, a total of six students qualified to compete in the PSIA State Meet.
