St. Pius X Elementary School and St. John Paul II High School band, color guard, dance team and cheerleaders kicked off National Catholic Schools Week with a lively parade around the St. Pius X neighborhood on Feb. 1.
A local fire truck headed the entourage, followed by Pack 157, the cub scout troop from St. Pius X Parish. Father Paul Hesse walked beside the principal of St. Pius X, Brian Krnavek, and Jane Longoria from St. John Paul II walked alongside the St. John Paul II band as they played band music, followed by cheerleaders, the dance team and the color guard. The St. Pius X pep squad brought up the rear followed by bicylists and roller bladers.
There were policemen, model T's and go-carts interspersed throughout the parade and neighbors of St. Pius X School came out to watch the exciting parade.
The event was followed by a pep rally on the basketball court.
