Students at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy don red shirts and form a red ribbon in honor of Red Ribbon Week, celebrated from Oct. 27-31. Catholic school students participate in activities that will educate them on the benefits of staying drug free. To kick off the festivities, students from OLPH gathered for a school wide photo on Oct. 27. All students wore red to coincide with the theme: Love Yourself Be Drug Free!
On Oct. 27 pre-Kindergarten students from Holy Family Catholic School wear cowboy attire and dance with teachers and staff, while next door, in the school cafeteria Judge Joe Benavides, Justice of the Peace for Nueces County, talks to older students about the origin of Red Ribbon Week and why they must say, "no to drugs." Students at Holy Family will be celebrating all during the week.
