On Feb. 8, the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity in Corpus Christi will open its convent doors to the local community for tours and will answer questions about religious life. The convent is located at 3423 Rojo Street in Corpus Christi and will be open to the public from
noon-4 p.m.
The event is part of the national initiative, Days with Religious, organized by the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious (CMSWR).
“We are excited to highlight this unique opportunity to participate in the Year of Consecrated Life,” said Sister Marie Bernadette Thompson, OP, the Council Coordinator of CMSWR. “We welcome all families, parishioners and those who are not part of our Church, and all of our friends and neighbors.”
This is the first of three events in 2015 associated with the Year of Consecrated Life. The goal of the Feb. 8 event is to open the doors of religious life to provide an encounter with the local communities they serve in their everyday ministries.
Local religious sisters will be on hand to offer tours and answer questions about customs, traditions and religious life overall. More than 100 convents will be involved, and each local convent will be publishing specific times and events via social media and their local diocese.
Located in Washington, D.C., the CMSWR was founded in 1992 with the canonical approval of St. John Paul II. The sisters of the CMSWR communities represent 125 communities nationwide with approximately 6,000 sisters. For more information, please visit
