School honors veterans and members of the armed forces

IWA scout presents gifts to member of the armed forces during celebration at Incarnate Word Academy.

In observance of Veterans Day, Incarnate Word Academy honored veterans and members of the armed forces with two celebrations of Mass, and a special concert.

The IWA Middle Level hosted a Mass on Monday, Nov. 11, in the school’s James R. Dougherty Center. A special blessing and presentation was given after Mass.

During lunch on Monday, the IWA High School Level hosted a concert presented by the IWA Band, under the direction of Joe Hernandez.

In addition, the IWA Elementary Level hosted a Mass on Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the Convent Chapel of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. The Mass included a brief program and refreshments.
