Fourth grader Sarahi Fernandez is this year’s winner of the Annual Sacred Heart School Spelling Bee held in Rockport on Tuesday, Jan. 28, during National Catholic Schools Week. Students ranging in grades 1st through 5th participated in the event.
The first runner up is Isabella Rutledge, a fifth grader. It took 24 rounds of spelling words before the winner was determined.
Special guests at the event included parents and grandparents, Superintendent of Catholic Schools Rene Gonzalez and Sacred Heart Pastor Father Ray Yrlas.
