"Green Saves the Greens" was first-grader Naomi Romanczyk's hypothesis in believing that the green boxes would work better at keeping the produce fresh longer than generic brand zip bags.
The Green Boxes are claimed to be designed to remove the ethylene gas that accelerates rotting, so Naomi ventured to find out if Green Boxes really do keep produce fresh longer?
After conducting a science experiment over a 10-day period, Naomi concluded that the produce in the Green Boxes began to mold after five days, whereas the produce in the generic zip bags stayed fresh beyond five days.
Naomi won first place in her class for her Science Fair Project, entitled "Green Saves the Green."
