Incarnate Word Academy High School Level is excited to announce its theatre departments’ public performance of “Almost, Maine” — written by John Cariani. There will be one more public performance be on Thursday, Dec.1 at 7 p.m. in the IWA Chapel’s Dining Hall.
“Almost, Maine” is a romantic comedy about a town that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the U.S. – it’s almost Canada. One day, its residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways.
Attendees will see the story unfold and enjoy a night of comedic entertainment by the school’s theatre department, who recently performed the play during the TAPPS District One Act Play Contest, where they received third place.
In addition, Jacob Gonzalez, Jack Harrison, and Joseph Cook were named to the TAPPS District All-Star Cast. Molly Hoffman was named as the TAPPS District All-Star Technician and Amille Bottom was named to the TAPPS District Honorable Mention All-Star Cast.
General admission will be $10 or five canned goods for adults and $5 or 3 canned goods for students. The canned goods will benefit KIII-TV’s Share Your Christmas Food Drive.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, pillows, or camping chairs to sit so they can have the sense of being in the great outdoors as if they were in the setting of the performance themselves … gazing at the stars.
