True Radiance, a program designed to offer training for staging a fashion show to include modeling, understanding church teachings on modesty and chastity and developing a deep sense of the beauty of being made in God’s image and likeness, is being launched for the youth of the diocese.
As part of the program, high school girls will be encouraged to participate in staging a fashion show in May.
An introductory session is set for Dec. 3, at the Blessed John Paul II High School cafeteria from 2–4:30 p.m. Door prizes and refreshments will be provided and bags with perks will be available for every girl that registers for the program.
The program, a joint effort from the offices of Family Life, Youth Ministry and Life, Justice, and Human Dignity, will begin in January with a one-day retreat, followed by three monthly meetings.
In April, the participants will offer a pre-gallery showing at both the middle school and high school Youth Spectaculars.
A complementary program is in the works for high school boys. Depending on the success of these programs, plans are being made to develop a similar program for middle school youth and young adults.
More details about True Radiance will be available at the introductory session in December.
