Thirty-eight students from Incarnate Word Academy Middle Level will travel to Victoria on Saturday, Feb. 13, to compete in the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) District Academic Meet.
The IWA Middle Level students will compete in several categories including: calculator applications; dictionary skills; impromptu speaking; listening skills; maps, graphs and charts; modern oratory; number sense; on-site drawing; poetry interpretation; mathematics; ready writing; science; spelling; and vocabulary.
The top two students from each category will advance to compete in the PSIA Academic State Meet at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth on April 30.
Last year, eight IWA Middle Level students qualified to compete at state.
