KCs host annual Blue Mass in Mathis on Saturday, Sept. 17

Bishop Michael Mulvey will celebrate the 15th Annual Blue Mass at Sacred Heart Parish in Mathis at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. The annual event, hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council 1163 and Assembly 1123, asks God's blessings and protection upon men and women in law enforcement and public safety, or who serve in the capacity of a first responder. 
 
All area 911 operators, firefighters, EMS personnel, correctional officers and police officers, along with their families are invited.  An appreciation dinner and award ceremony will follow in the Parish Hall, where several public safety employees and first responders will be recognized for their service. 
 
Sacred Heart is located at 217 West San Patricio Ave. in Mathis.
