Catholic schools came together as one at the St. John Paul II High School and Bishop Garriga Middle Preparatory School annual homecoming parade on Oct. 25. Schools from around the Diocese participated in the event. The parade included the DJ music from “Dance Til Dawn,” and various food trucks were there for people to enjoy.
Bishop Michael Mulvey opened the event with prayer and kind words to the community after the parade. Football players, dance teams and cheer teams from both schools were introduced.
Other Catholic schools celebrated with St. John Paul II High School and Bishop Garriga Middle Preparatory School. They were: Most Precious Blood School, St. Pius X School, St. Patrick School, Ss. Cyril and Methodius School, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and St. Anthony School. The parade also included highlights of the many teams and clubs.
Other dignitaries included Bishop Emeritus Edmond Carmody, School President Father Peter Martinez, St. John Paul II Principal Priscilla Vela and Bishop Garriga Middle Preparatory School Principal Sister Marilyn Springs.
The event culminated with President Father Peter Martinez “Burning of the C” Go Centurions! Go Catholic Schools!
