Incarnate Word Academy Elementary Level students from kindergarten to fifth grade participated in the tradition of Las Posadas on Dec. 13.
The Christmas tradition of Mary and Joseph searching for an inn for Mary to give birth took place at the school. Students traveled to several classrooms before finding their manger at the school’s front office.
“It’s a good opportunity for our students to continue this tradition during the Advent season,” IWA Elementary Level teacher Mrs. Laura McCracken said.
Throughout the event, students sang songs in Spanish as they traveled from place to place.
“We are excited to see our students participate in Las Posadas,” IWA Spanish Teacher Georgina Mortera said.
