The Incarnate Word Academy boys’ golf team is headed to the TAPPS State Golf tournament along with Lady Angel Mikaela Rendon from the girls’ team.
The state tournament will be April 27-28 in Glen Rose, Texas.
The boys’ team qualified for state after received fourth place at the TAPPS Regional Golf Tournament on April 20.
In addition, the boys’ golf team won first place in district for the 11th straight year on April 14, 2015 at the Mission Del Lago Golf Course in San Antonio. The girls’ team earned third place in district.
At regionals, William Teichman led the team with an 80 and placed 9th overall. The team shot a 340 with other lead scores by Hicks Layton with an 86, Paul Flood with an 85, Zachary Hartman with an 89, and Wills Layton with 116.
Jackson Wallace shot an 86 playing as a medalist.

The Lady Angels received fifth place — missing out by three strokes from qualifying for state.
Overall, the girls’ team shot 415, with Mikaela Rendon shooting a 90, Daniela Carreno with a 99, Lillie Mills with a 107, and Hannah Hall with a 117.
