IWA fifth grader advances to South Texas Regional Spelling Bee

Fifth grader Cyan Sepulveda-Guevara placed first at Incarnate Word Academy’s Elementary Level Spelling Bee on Thursday, Jan. 23.

IWA Fourth grader Jorge Rivera, an upper level Montessori student, placed second.

Cyan now qualifies to compete in the South Texas Regional Spelling Bee on Feb. 22 at the Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center.

The regional winner will compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. from May 25-31.
