IWA elementary level students celebrate Jeanne Chezard de Matel's birthday

Incarnate Word Academy Elementary Level students, faculty and staff gathered at the Convent Chapel of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament on Wednesday, Nov. 6, to celebrate the birthday of Jeanne Chezard de Matel, foundress of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. She was born in Roanne, France on Nov. 6, 1596.

The school celebrated Mass at 8:30 a.m. A reception was held immediately following Mass where two pieces of art featuring Jeanne de Matel were presented to both the traditional and Montessori schools. Students sang happy birthday to Jeanne Chezard de Matel and partook of cake in her honor.
