Fourth and fifth grade girls at Incarnate Word Academy participated in a dance troupe workshop on Friday, Aug. 2, in the school’s James R. Dougherty Center.
Sister Mary Link, FMA, of Colorado Springs, presented the workshop and taught students dances and songs, which they will perform at school assemblies and events. The girls also learned how to dance with props, such as ribbon sticks and ribbon hula hoops, at the first of its kind dance troupe workshop at IWA.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the dance troupe’s presence at assemblies for events such as Grandparents Day and Veterans Day,” Elementary Level Principal Rosario Davila said. “I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback from parents who say that their child is excited to join a school-sponsored dance troupe.”
