IWA athletes receive yearly physicals thanks to local medical professionals

Incarnate Word Academy’s student-athletes kicked off the school year in prayer at the school’s annual Athletic Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 17 at the school’s James R. Dougherty Center.

The Athletic Prayer Breakfast encouraged athletes to maintain honorable sportsmanship and team unity. Tim Ehrman, an IWA alumnus from the class of 1986, was the guest speaker at the event.

Following the Athletic Prayer Breakfast, students received their annual physicals thanks to some local medical professionals – the Orthopedic Associates of Corpus Christi.

“It’s because of the generosity of our community that institutions such as ours are able to move forward,” IWA Athletic Director Reynaldo Garcia said. “We are grateful that there are so many individuals in the South Texas area who are kind enough to pay it forward.”
