IWA Athlete signs letter of intent with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

Incarnate Word Academy senior Jaran Cadena signed a letter of intent on Thursday, May 22, with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to join to the Islanders track team.

This year, Cadena took first place in the 800-meter-run at the TAPPS 4A State Track Meet in Waco. He finished with a time of 1:55:83 and broke the previous state record from 2004.

Cadena was named to the 2013 TAPPS Academic All-State Cross Country Team and 2013 Corpus Christi Caller-Times All-South Texas Cross Country Team.
