March 19, 2023The Word of God. There can be no Christian life without the Word of God. Jesus is not only present in the Eucharist, but he is also alive in the Word of God.
St. Augustine compared the Word of God to the Eucharist. While both are different (one is not sacramental but Jesus is just as present as he is in Holy Communion) we need to come back to the power of the Word of God, the Gospel, especially in our lives.
In the fourth video of his Lenten video retreat titled ‘Growing in Grace: Lenten Reflections With Bishop Mulvey’, Bishop Mulvey talks to us about one of the effects of the Word of God when we live in our lives: it makes us alive.
Many people say ‘I'm not sure who I am. I don't know where to go. I don't know who to listen to.’ There's a lot of confusion. As Bishop Mulvey shares with us “we’re looking for the truth and there’s only one truth and that’s Jesus Christ.”
