Garza professes as a Third Order Franciscan

October 7, 2022On Sept 17, Suzie Garza professed as a Secular Franciscan. The Right of Profession was celebrated in a Mass celebrated by the pastor, Msgr. Roger Smith at St. Patrick Church in Corpus Christi.
Many of the professed Secular Franciscans from the Coastal Bend, family members and friends of Garza, and individuals who are in formation to become Third Order Franciscans were in attendance.
During her profession, Susie stated her intention to follow the rule of St. Francis as a Third Order Franciscan (Brothers and Sisters of Penance). Garza, now a professed member of the St. Anthony of Padua Secular Franciscan Fraternity in Corpus Christi, will continue her journey for the rest of her life, as do all Third Order Franciscans, by bringing the Gospel to life and life to the Gospel as a lay person in the secular world.
Following the Mass, a celebration was held in Our Lady of Knock Hall with refreshments. The St. Anthony of Padua Secular Franciscan Fraternity is greatly blessed by her commitment to living the Franciscan charism with their fraternity. Moreover, she is a blessing to her family and friends, her parish, and to our community.
