The University of Notre Dame's Alliance for Catholic Education rolls into Corpus Christi with the “Fighting for Our Children’s Future National Bus Tour,” a cross-country, year-long effort to raise awareness of the profound impact an excellent education can make on a child’s life, and to celebrate the unique role Catholic schools play as agents of human formation and social transformation.
Representatives of the Alliance for Catholic Education will visit St. Anthony School in Robstown as part of their gatherings with school and community leaders, coupled with the presentation of awards and the honoring of partners who support the movement for educational excellence. The visit to the Diocese of Corpus Christi is one stop of almost 50 city visits along the tour’s route.
Following Mass from 9:30-10:30 a.m., a student assembly will feature remarks by the principal and a student showcase. Father Joseph Corpora, CSC, director of Notre Dame’s Catholic School Advantage campaign, will present the University of Notre Dame Champion for Education Award to the John G. and Marie Stella Kenedy Memorial Foundation, based in Corpus Christi.
