On Friday, Sept. 12, Msgr. Louis Kihneman, III, Vicar General for the Diocese of Corpus Christi and Father Anthony Blount, SOLT blessed and dedicated the Mother Julia Hall at St. Anthony School in Robstown. The building serves as a cafeteria and classrooms and was named in honor of Venerable Mother Julia Navarrete, MDPVM who established the school in August 1916.
The sisters from the congregation of the Missionary Daughters of the Most Pure Virgin Mary in Mexico and Kingsville traveled to the event and were warmly welcomed by the Dominican sisters who now run the school. Also in attendance were Robstown mayor Rodrigo Ramon, State Representative Abel Herrero and other city officials who offered gifts and congratulations.
The new building was filled to capacity with students, former students, parents and staff. Students sang, while young cheerleaders parading through the crowd with red, white and green balloons as a mariachi band played festive music for the event.
