Catholic Charities Community Christmas needs your help

Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi needs your additional support to help bring Christmas cheer to those in need. Over the past year, their food pantries have seen a 158% increase as clients experience food insecurity. 

For the past 56 years, Catholic Charities has spearheaded the effort to “provide help and create hope” and provide a Christmas meal to those who need it the most. For the past 41 years, they have partnered with the U. S. Marines Toys For Tots Program for children. 

Christmas food baskets will go out to families who have registered. In addition to the food baskets, supporters and sponsors will help Catholic Charities provide toys to children in Nueces County whose parents register. This year, 2022, they will endeavor to reach 2,300 households within the 12 counties the Diocese of Corpus Christi serves.

To Apply for a Christmas Food Basket & Toys for Tots, families must register at Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi, located at 615 Oliver Ct. in Corpus Christi. 

Registration will begin from Nov. 2-30, Mondays through Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (closed from 12–12:30 p.m.) and Thursdays from 1–5 p.m. You will need the following:

To Apply for Toys for Tots, you will need:

• Proof of Residence (Must live in Nueces County)
• Proof of Income or Government Assistance
• Photo ID
• Birth Certificates or Adoption/Guardian Paperwork per Child

To Apply for a Christmas Food Basket, you will need:

• Photo ID
• Proof or Residence (Utility or Electric Bill will work)
• One per household

As a $500 and above Community Christmas Sponsor, you will be recognized for a full year on the Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi website, print media for the event, and on our social media. Community Christmas Distribution Days are from Dec. 19-22:

Dec. 19: Rural/Outside Agencies Distribution
Dec. 20: Blessing of the People by Bishop Mulvey, 8:30 - 9:00 a.m.
Dec. 20: Distribution Day 1
Dec. 21: Distribution Day 2
Dec. 22: Distribution Day 3 (FINAL DAY)
