Bishop urges faithful to join the Texas Catholic Network

Bishop Michael Mulvey is urging the faithful in the Diocese of Corpus Christi to join the Texas Catholic Network in order to fulfill their obligations of faithful citizenship. The Texas Catholic Network keeps Catholics up to date on policy issues.

The network is an initiative of the Texas Catholic Conference, the policy arm of the Bishops of Texas. It issues regular news updates that help Catholics stay involved through action alerts and connects them with thousands of other faithful Catholics across Texas.

“Today, our country faces daunting political and moral choices,” Jerry Patterson, Executive Director of the Texas Catholic Conference, said. “How we respond will have an irreversible impact on our future. Our faith helps us navigate these turbulent times in both our private lives and our public responsibilities.”

The Texas Catholic Network advocates for life, promotes social justice and promotes the tenets of the Catholic faith to state and federal policy makers.

“We are obliged to speak the truth and to make decision based on facts,” Patterson said.
