Bishop Mulvey expresses gratitude to those who defend life

 
Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today’s decision and announcement by the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade is welcomed and celebrated by all who defend the sanctity of life from the moment of conception until natural death. I want to express my profound gratitude to everyone in the Diocese of Corpus Christi who has prayed and worked to protect the life of every baby in the womb of its mother.

We do understand that abortion is considered by women and couples who feel they have nowhere to turn. If you, or someone you know, is facing an unexpected or difficult pregnancy, our Office of Family Life is willing to assist you. Additionally, your local parish and the Gabriel Project of Corpus Christi are both able to provide assistance and support. If you or a loved one is suffering from the brokenness of abortion, Rachel’s Vineyard provides a safe place for healing and renewal.

Further, we pray for peace and mercy in our country and our community that today’s decision from the Supreme Court does not become the cause or source of greater division. May all of us stand together in favor of life to create a new culture of life, love, and unity.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas,

Para quienes defienden la santidad de la vida desde el momento de la concepción hasta la muerte natural; es motivo de gran celebración, el anuncio que ha hecho hoy la Suprema Corte de los EE. UU. al anular la ley ‘Roe versus Wade’, damos la bienvenida a dicha decisión.

Quiero expresar mi profunda gratitud a todas las personas en la Diócesis de Corpus Christi que han orado y trabajado para proteger la vida de cada bebé en el vientre de su madre.

Entendemos que el aborto es considerado por algunas mujeres y parejas que sienten que no tienen a dónde ir o a quien acudir. Si usted, o alguien que conoce, se enfrenta a un embarazo inesperado o difícil, nuestra Oficina de Vida Familiar está dispuesta a ayudarle. Además, su parroquia local y el Gabriel Project de Corpus Christi pueden brindar asistencia y apoyo.
Si usted o un ser querido está sufriendo por la ruptura que ocasiona un aborto, puede contar con ‘Rachel's Vineyard’ que le ofrece un lugar seguro para la curación y la renovación de tal situación.

Además, oramos por la paz y la misericordia en nuestro país y en nuestra comunidad para que la decisión que hizo hoy de la Suprema Corte, no se convierta en causa o fuente de mayor división.

Que todos permanezcamos unidos a favor de la vida, para crear una nueva cultura de vida, amor y unidad.
