Moved by the devastation, suffering and loss of life being borne by the peoples of the Philippines and Vietnam in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, Bishop Michael Mulvey has issued an appeal to all Catholics throughout the Diocese of Corpus Christi to contribute generously to a special collection that will be taken up in all Catholic parishes.
In a letter to all pastors and administrators throughout the diocese, Bishop Mulvey asked that they take up a second collection for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan this weekend Nov. 16-17 or on the weekend of Nov. 30-Dec. 1.
Bishop Mulvey will also celebrate a special Mass for the victims of the storm on Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Parish located 2233 Waldron Road in Flour Bluff. Everyone is invited.
