Father Richard Gonzales and five parishioners from St. Joseph's in Beeville traveled to New Orleans to attend the National Right to Life Convention from July 8-12. Parishioners on the trip included Jeannie Leos, Arlisa Valdez, Patsy Longoria and Gilbert and Renee Guajardo. They attended all the general sessions and various workshops.
Father Gonzales and his group learned a great deal about Pro Life issues, from womb to tomb. They also learned different ways of speaking and ministering to people in these delicate life-deciding situations.
One morning, four of the candidates for the 2016 Presidential election spoke to the NRTL Convention including Florida Senator Marco Rubio, former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum, former Texas governor Rick Perry and Dr. Benjamin Carson.
The group also explored the French Quarter of New Orleans.
