Alice Deanery hosts 'Back-to-School Night of Adoration'

On Wednesday, Aug. 19, the Alice Deanery and the diocesan Youth Ministry office held a Back-to-School Night of Adoration at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Alice. Present for the evening were students, youth ministers and parents from St. Joseph, St. Elizabeth and Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The students held a time of praise and worship with Dave Moore and Kara Klein leading the music. Klein presented her testimony and spoke about adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Before Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament the students received a blessing from Msgr. Leonard Pivonka, Father Joseph Verghese and Father Julian Cabrera. Many in attendance spoke about the beautiful evening and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Adoration organizers said they would continue to pray for all students, teachers and school personnel as they get this school year started and that they may have a successful and safe school year. In addition to Jaime Reyna with the diocesan office of Youth Ministry, Pauly Gonzalez with St. Joseph and Christiana Villegas and Lucas Lopez from Our Lady of Guadalupe helped make the evening possible.
