Academic Contest at IWA

Incarnate Word Academy is hosting an Academic Contest that will offer private school students an opportunity to compete in 13 different comprehensive academic events. 

These contests will encompass many elements of required Elementary and Middle-Level academic curriculum. 
 
The Academic Contest is designed to motivate students as they acquire higher levels of knowledge, offer students an opportunity to stretch their talents above and beyond those requirements and most of all have fun  We are inviting all local and surrounding Corpus Christi Private Schools to participate in this Academic Contest.   
 
Over the next few weeks, your child will have the opportunity to consider trying out for one or more academic events that will be hosted at Incarnate Word Academy.  Please circle the event(s) you would like your child to participate in.  The events and eligible grade levels are listed below:
 
Mathematics (2-8)                              Dictionary (4-8)                      Listen Skills (4-8)
Maps, Charts & Graphs (4-8)             Science (6-8)                           Ready Writing (3-8)  
Number Sense (4-8)                            Spelling (2-8)                          Poetry (4-8)
Vocabulary (5-8)                                Creative Writing (1-2)            On-Site Drawing (6-8)
Story Telling (1-3)
 
The Academic Contest will be held at Incarnate Word Academy on Saturday, May 4.  This will be a local Academic Contest and no students will advance to further competitions.
 
It is important that the parents volunteer and stay for the entire academic competition. There needs to be 1 volunteer for every 3 contestants. Students will be driven by their parent(s)/guardian(s) to and from the Academic Contest.
