It was the only stop in the Diocese of Corpus Christi: The Arm of St. Jude, the apostle of impossible cases, was displayed at Most Precious Blood Parish in Corpus Christi. Already before 2 pm, the precious relic arrived in a special van, accompanied by Fr. Carlos Martins, the director of Treasures of the Church, who organized the first exposition of the relic outside of Italy.
Immediately, long lines formed in the parking lot and all around the Church building despite the light rain. The Knights of Columbus guarded the relic, which is contained in a glass case. In a silver and golden hand, a bone is visible that is said to be from the arm of St. Jude, who was a maternal cousin of Jesus.
Each faithful could venerate the relic personally, and many stayed to pray in the Church pews. Fr. Carlos Martins, who traveled with the relic from Illinois to the East and the South, confirmed that the dedication to St. Jude has been huge all over the U.S. so far: “He might be the most venerated male saint because of his help in impossible cases.”
The veneration continues throughout the day, with a special Mass celebrated at 6 pm.
