In his message for the 58th annual World Day of Prayer for Vocations, Pope Francis offered St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus, as a model for vocational discernment.

Incarnate Word Academy’s Varsity Volleyball team will hosted their annual Dig Pink and Senior Night game on Oct. 27 in the Mother Patricia Gunning Gymnasium. The Lady Angels will played against St. Augustine Catholic High School.

Fifth-grade students from St. Pius X began their first annual Virtual Cyber Robotics and Coding Competition through CoderZ on Oct. 27. They are currently in their second week of competition, competing with 99 teams worldwide while developing their STEM and coding skills. STEM is a curriculum based on educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

On Nov. 2, All Souls’ Day, 15 minutes before 12 p.m., Corpus Christi Cathedral will toll the bells for those who have died of COVID-19 in the Diocese of Corpus Christi.

The Silver Rose has made its final stop in the Diocese of Corpus Christi at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Portland. The Silver Rose was available for viewing on the altar at the vigil Mass celebrated by the pastor, Father Piotr Koziel on Oct. 30. After Mass it was then placed in the adoration chapel by Sir Knight Joe Saavedra, Knights of Columbus District Marshal of the diocese and Faithful Navigator of Assembly 2781 (Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church) and will be available for viewing and adoration until Nov. 4.

The United Nations will convene their annual meeting on climate, COP26, on October 31. In advance of the meeting, Archbishop Paul S.
